The Intake

During your initial consultation, I will spend 30 to 40 minutes asking more about your symptoms and condition to better understand the overall health of your body, inside and out. This may also include taking your pulse and taking a look at your tongue at the top and bottom of your tongue based on Chinese medical diagnostic approach. I encourage you to bring in any labs or blood work that you may have on record or that may be relevant. This will be followed by a 30-45 minute acupuncture treatment that may or may not include adjunct therapies that can supplement the overall treatment.

Please come wearing loose clothing, or a change of clothes in order to properly access specific acupuncture points on your body depending on your specific condition.

The Treatment

Each treatment is customized for your body and condition on the day of treatment, depending on your symptoms, and other factors that can alter the status of your current condition. I utilize a wide range of Chinese medical approaches and tools besides acupuncture, which include: Electroacupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Moxibustion, Fire Cupping, Gua Sha, and Tui Na Massage. These modalities can enhance and support the treatment in an effective manner. You may lay face up, face down, on your side, or sitting for the duration of treatment, depending on your condition. Please wear loose clothing that is easy to roll up and remove, as certain treatments require you to disrobe. Sheets and linens are provided for cleanliness and privacy.

Additional Information

Our initial consultation is 1.5 hours, but follow-up treatments are streamlined to 1 hour to provide efficient treatment as safely as possible. Safety is our number one priority when it comes to acupuncture and Chinese herbs. We provide the utmost care in sourcing high quality herbs and patent formulas.

We are in integrative practice with our own specialities and varying locations in TN and NC. All of our practitioners are board certified and state licensed. Our mission is to provide integrative and comprehensive care with meaningful and lasting results.

Most patients are seen on a weekly or bi-weekly basis; however, each case is unique. Treatment plans are custom tailored for your body and symptom relief will dictate how often you need to come in for treatment for full resolution that is also cost-effective. Everyone responds to treatment differently, so your results will depend on your particular situation. There are certain issues that can be addressed in a visit or two; other cases might require more treatments until full resolution is met. It is my responsibility to assist you in guiding you on the results you can expect. Often, patients will notice relief from a specific symptom straight away, while others may need more time to process the physiological changes that occur with treatment.

Insurance Information

We do not process insurance in-house; however, we are happy to provide you with a superbill receipt that has the necessary coding for you to submit to your insurance provider. We recommend checking with your insurance company beforehand to see if you are covered for acupuncture and, if so, what specific conditions your insurance company covers acupuncture for.
